Let’s check out how you can expedite your Australian migration dreams with Priority Processing!

What Is Priority Processing?

Priority Processing is a specialised service offered by VETASSESS for general and professional occupations. Each day, 55 places are allocated for priority assessments, including weekends. Unlike regular assessments that may take weeks, Priority Processing applications are assessed within 10 business days. As the assessment is completed, the outcome letter is downloadable within 48 hours.

Eligibility Criteria For Priority Processing

To be eligible for Priority Processing, applicants must meet certain criteria which are as follows:

  • If you had applied for a Full Skills Assessment for general and professional occupations and not previously received a negative outcome for the same occupation.
  • Applicants seeking reassessment with a new occupation or renewing a positively assessed application for both employment and qualifications.

About Priority Processing Update

With effect from July 31, the VETASSESS Priority Processing service will be modified to provide preference to applicants who can demonstrate an urgent need when places are allocated.

Even without an urgent need, applicants can still request priority processing. Any open spots will be made available to other candidates on a first-come, first-served basis once those with an urgent need are allocated place on priority.

An applicant may request Priority Processing for the following reasons:

  • They have an invitation from the Department of Home Affairs or a state or territory government of Australia that comes with an expiry date.
  •  Their visa is expiring in eight weeks and they are unable to apply for another visa.
  •  Within eight weeks, they will turn 33, 40, or 45.
  •  An IELTS or PTE result for their English test is only valid for eight weeks.
  • Results of their Partner Skills Assessment or English test expire in eight weeks.

How to Apply?

Applying for Priority Processing requires applicants to submit all necessary documents and pay the additional fee of $623 (excluding GST) at the time of application. It’s crucial to ensure all documents are genuine and consistent to avoid potential delays. The eligibility criteria must be met, and the online application process must be followed, with the option to select Priority Processing during the Fees and Payment section.

The Process And Timeline

The 10-business day timeline for Priority Processing starts after confirmation of eligibility and receipt of the fee. Once the assessment is complete, applicants can download the assessment outcome letter within 48 hours.

Benefits And Considerations

Priority Processing offers numerous benefits, especially for those with time-sensitive migration plans. However, applicants should carefully consider the strict timeframe and ensure they have all required documents ready to avoid any delays due to incomplete submissions.

Conclusion

Priority Processing is an excellent option for applicants and migration agents/lawyers seeking a faster route to their skills assessment for Australian migration. Make sure you understand the eligibility criteria and application process so that you can make the most of this service to expedite your assessment.
