Is it Easy to Apply for a Partner Visa 820?

There are several conditions that you need to meet before successfully applying for the partner visa 820. Before applying, you should be in a relationship for at least 12 months with an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or an eligible New Zealand citizen. The government can waive off the 12-month condition if you have prior registration of your relationship or any compassionate circumstances involved. There is, however, no such restriction for those applying for a married partner visa.

You should also be aware that migration officers look at the evidence of a serious relationship during a partner visa approval. It may include but is not limited to:

The sponsor should provide accommodation, financial assistance, an English language course if needed, and the cost of living for any dependent children.

A partner visa 820 is $7,850 approx. Applicant also needs to pay for a medical examination cost, and a police certificate cost. This amount does not include the cost of dependants’ visas that needs to be paid separately.
